Welcome to the official website of the REVIEWERS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION.

Our chief purpose is to provide an index of professional book reviewers available to review books in both print and electronic mediums. With members throughout every corner of the globe, we are dedicated to presenting international coverage of books and reviews. Each reviewer listed in our members' section abides by the mission statement of the organization:

"Reviewers International Organization works to provide readers with quality reviews, raise the profile of book reviewers, and to gain recognition for the service provided by reviewers to the publishing industry. Reviewers International Organization is comprised of experienced and new reviewers who do not engage in "slash and trash" reviews but do write exemplary, intelligent reviews about fiction and nonfiction works."

Please note Reviewers International Organization is NOT a website where reviewers post their own reviews. As members of and contributors to established web sites and freelance reviewers, our goal is to cover a wide array of writers, publishers, and reading genres.

We honor the "best" writers in fiction with the annual RIO Award of Excellence. In the spring of each year, the members of Reviewers International Organization honor the best books published in the preceding year. 2006 marks the eighth anniversary of presenting this award.

IF YOU ARE A REVIEWER ...

We welcome your membership in our organization if you are currently reviewing for an established review web site or print medium, where as a staff reviewer or freelance reviewer you are able to meet the basic membership requirements:

• To encourage and maintain the art of high-quality reviewing.
• To uphold ethical standards of fairness and integrity by defining, maintaining, and encouraging such standards and continuously pursuing these professional goals through education and dialogue about reviewing and publicity of noteworthy authors and Reviewers International Organization Members.
• To provide development, support, and encouragement among its members.
